Good Morning everyone.
The Temperature is 9 C 49 F
James is with us on this very chilly morning.
James has David with him on camera.
Byron is our other guide this morning and he has Bryan assisting him on camera and has at least 40 jackets on.
There was a Leopard calling earlier this morning so James is hoping he/she will pop up to pay us a visit.
James is checking with Lex on the radio because it was Lex who originally heard the Leopard.
We pop over to Byron and as a special treat I have a link below to a very amazing story about Byron.
Up Close And Personal With Tswalu
Byron is driving this morning with Bryan on camera.
Byron is driving and constantly checking for tracks.
Over to James with some Impala. James says he is going to stop for anything that has a heartbeat this morning until the sun warms them up.
ooops. Technical difficulty screen just popped up.
Now we are back with James and he tells us that we have missed nothing.
Beautiful sunrise with James this morning.
Beautiful morning reflections this morning at the Dam with Byron.
Byron sees tracks of a Lioness but does not see any Male Lion tracks. There was a young Male Lion spotted last night after drive by Byron.
Over to James who is heading South on the Gowrie Cutline.
James plan is to head to the Hyena Den.
Over to Byron and Bryan. Bryan needs to wipe the camera lens often as the cold makes it fog up.
James is now at the Hyena Den.
We see a pair of ears at the Hyena Den but nothing else for the moment.
Gwen (Mommy Hyena with the cubs) just chased off a young male Hyena who approached the den.
James said "He wasn't the flavour of the month.
James is going to move on in search of Karula.
James says if he owned a farm he would have Crested Francolins instead of Chickens.
Lets go over to Byron as James leaves the Hyena Den.
Byron just got a report on the game drive radio that there are 2 Female Lions feeding on something so he is going to try to get into the sighting.
There is a Giraffe walking down the road. A large Male.
Byron used his turn signal on the vehicle (or rather reached for it on the side of the steering wheel) just out of habit.
Byron is searching for the Female Lions.
OH MY GOODNESS! There THEY ARE!
The 2 Nkahuma's have a Buffalo kill. One is eating and tugging at the meat while the other one has a very full belly and is fast asleep.
2 Nkahuma Female Lions
With A Buffalo Kill
James has moved quite South hoping to find Karula. Lex has driven this area and cannot find tracks. James is wondering if someone made a mistake in the original report.
NOTE: 3 BB boys (Dominant Male Lions for this area) are currently in Buffleshoek and are also eating a Buffalo. They are with 3 Female Lions.
Back over to Byron while James tries to decipher the tracks.
Byron is still with the Nkahuma's.
She licks the fur which because her tongue is actually like sandpaper and has little barbs on it, it assists in removing the hair and also helps to open up the carcass even more.
Over to James who has found no tracks from Leopards. 2 other guides have not been able to find tracks either.
James is going to go to Treehouse Dam and if nothing is there, he will go Arathusa.
Over to Byron who is still with the Nkahuma Female Lions.
They have switched spots. The one Female who was sleeping is now up and feeding on the Buffalo while the other one has flopped and is napping.

Look Closely as This Buffalo has a tree branch caught between it's legs |
Over to Byron who gets out of his vehicle.
Byron shows us dung that has been "Sprayed" all over this bush.
It is Hippo Dung. They do this as a territorial marking. It is not even close to water which shows the distance's they have to travel for grass when it is so dry.
Over to James who shows us a Side Striped Jackal.
Side Striped Jackal
Over to Bryan who sees a Bateleur Eagle sitting high on the top of a tree.
Magnificent Bird of Prey.

Bryon continues to move along.
Over to James with a Male and Female Nyala who have been chasing each other and jumping over the log and back again.

Over to Byron who is heading to the Vuyatela waterhole to see what might be there.
A viewer is asking Byron which animal Jame's resembles the most.
He said an Owl because slim legs and a calm nature and very wise. He is one of the most intelligent people that he knows.
Over to James who is at the Arathusa Waterhole.
He said it is a quite sad sight. All of the snake like things you see are catfish.
Watch the video and you will see them all moving and trying to find space. There are literally hundreds of catfish. The water level is decreasing drastically with the drought.
Arathusa waterhole 1 hippo hundreds of catfish and very little water.
James says Byron resembles a Buffalo because if Touch Rugby he charges like a Buffalo.
There is Byron a Raging Buffalo as James says as he shows us the Buffalo below.
James is making his way to allow the herd of Buffalo's to come to drink.
He says Bacon and Eggs for Breakfast this morning. YUM
Over to Byron who saw 1 Vervet Monkey who could be acting as a look out.
He is very deep inside the foliage of the tree so we cant get a glimpse of him
Over to James as we watch the herd of Buffalo heading in for a drink
Kicking up the dust as them come in
