2 Naughty Cubs Go On An Adventure

There was one teeny cub and one who was a little older and a little larger and he also thought he was a little wiser.

The larger cub thought since he was older that he had it all under control and he persuaded the little cub that they could leave their little thicket where their mom's had left them while they went hunting for their breakfast.

After all, it would only take a few minutes to go get a drink while the adults were away.

Come on the older cub said! Lets Go!
Shhh The older one said. Don't wake the others or we will get into trouble.

So on Sept 7 and 5:40 in the morning, off they went.

So as you can see, the two little ones had a nice refreshing drink as the morning light began to bring on a new day.
We better get back said the little one. Our Mom's will be home soon.

The little one carefully started head back.. to over the dam wall. He knew the way. The little one scampered on ahead and then paused.. The older one didn't want to follow. He thought he had a better way.

So the little one followed him.

Sept 8 at 02:00 a.m The 5 Nkuhuma Lioness's with the 6 other cubs come to the waterhole

They didn't stay long. They needed to get back to their other cubs who were surely close by.

Sept 8 02:20 The 6 cubs come down for a drink. (Their moms were probably up on the wall looking and listening for the 2 naughty cubs) They could hear their Dad calling too.

Sept 8 02:50 a.m 3 on the Nkuhuma adults bring the cubs back to the waterhole to have another look. Those little naughty cubs are going to be grounded for sure this time

It was now getting really late. Hours and Hours had passed. The Nkuhuma Adults were getting worried. They keep looking and looking. Where could they be!

at 03:45 a.m all 5 of the adults and one of their dads return yet again to the waterhole to look once more.

We all looked with our guides during the day in hopes we would see the 2 little lost cubs. But there was no sign of them.

We were all glued to the Djuma waterhole thinking they would come back there. But we saw no signs of the cubs or their Mom's Or Aunties.

Sept 9- 06: 00 a.m Sunrise Drive came and went as we all anxiously listened for the game drive radio to tell us someone had found the cubs.

Sept 9- 03:00 pm and Sunset Drive begins. Our hearts were heavy but we still had hope. These Nkuhuma Lioness's were great moms. We knew they could find them.

The Cubs had now been missing for many hours. We feared time would be running out. What could have happened to them? Where did they go? We knew a Hyena was in the area and that made our fears even more real.

2 hours into the drive - about 05:15 p.m Brent had located a Nkuhuma Adult along with 6 cubs.
Brent reminds us that if the missing cubs are not located, that this is part of life in the bush. He realizes that we as viewers are all concerned.

But our two naughty cubs were not here.
Had the other adults split up to cross more ground and find our two little ones?

Brent tells us that he heard on the game drive channel that the rest of the pride are moving south.
All of the other adults should be back any minute. The Mom gets up and starts to move. She is contact calling.

Is she calling her pride or the missing cubs?
