Our guides this morning will be Brent with Jeandre on camera, Jamie who has Wiam on Camera and Stefan doing a bush walk with Dave on Camera.
We start off with a breathtaking sunrise with Jamie
Jamie has a plan this morning to head over to Cheetah Plains.
Quick! Over To Brent! He has a pair of Side Striped Jackals and it isn't even day light yet.
Side Striped Jackals
And Brent loses signal. And then we get the Technical difficulty screen
I like this one of James because he does not look impressed.
Back to Brent after a few minutes and we have a different view of the amazing Sunrise.
Brent points out that even though the sunrise is gorgeous, there is a huge bank of ominous clouds moving in

Back over to Jamie. Her Gremlins(tech difficulties) are not completely sorted out so her area is not going to go far for the moment.
We see a large Buffalo Bull complete with lots of oxpeckers helping him out.
Lots Of Oxpeckers
Over to Stefan with Dave on Camera. Not even time for him to say hello and Tech difficulty screen pops back up
Over to Jamie who is getting an update from the game channel.
Over to Brent.
He is on the Eastern side of Djuma
He says he can feel it getting colder as the weather front approaches. He adjusts his Kiloy scarf.
Brent loses signal so back to Jamie
The Gowrie repeater is down....
Jamie is the only one with signal currently but her signal is patchy.
Back over to Brent. While he had no signal he spotted a Honey Badger. Andddddddd Brent loses signal again.
Over to Jamie who's screen is frozen so back to Brent
Brent has relocated the honey badger but now it has gone inside a hole.
Brent is getting out of the vehicle and is going to go sneak up and peek inside the hole.
Brent Is Doing A Sneak And Peak
We pop back over to Jamie and some Ellies

While we are watching the Elephants with Jamie.. Brent pops in for a quick visit

Plans have changed. Jamie is now heading West instead of East.
The Nkahuma's are hunting Buffalo on Arathusa so she is driving as quickly as possible to get there. Since Jamie's game channel is not working well, Brent has booked her a spot at the sighting and is on standby.
There is always a restriction of the number of vehicles allowed at a sighting. It is usually 3 but can be reduced to 2 and in some cases 1 vehicle depending on the sensitivity of the sighting and being respectful to the animals.
Jamie has a thermos and is drinking "Milo". She said it is like hot chocolate only 10 times better.
Tech difficulties. Lost signal.
Channel off air.
Finally back on. She is moving into a block and trying to find her way. the 3 Nkahuma ladies are moving and hunting.
Jamie is moving further into Arathusa but the Arathusa tower isn't working so she could lose signal again.
We see the lions. They are slowly creeping and stalking.
Attack Attempt Initiated
You can here the Buffalo nearby. The lions are waiting for them to make a mistake so they can separate them. The large bulls remain on the outside of the herd to act as guards.
Jamie said this has been going on all morning. The Lions are being very patient waiting for the perfect time
Stalking

Jamie thinks the Lions are going to box them into Red Dam (steep drainage walls)
Over to Brent while Jamie repositions
The Game channel has just told Brent that they have had a visual of Karula crossing around Twin Dams. Brent is very excited.
Signal lost again.
Finally back with Jamie
Amber Eyes (One of the female Nkahuma Pride) is poking her head above a termite mound.
Up on the Dam wall now, poised and alert
Up and Over The Dam Wall
Back over to Brent who is sitting up in his vehicle looking intently and scanning the bush for a sign of Karula.
He thought he heard an alarm call but then laughs and said it was a bulldozer moving some rocks.
Over to Jamie now and it appears our Nkuhuma's have decided to put off the hunt for a while. They have all day and it is still quite cool out so there is no rush.
The 3 decide to have a play time and a much needed drink at the dam
If You Can't Catch A Buffalo- THEN ITS PLAY TIME
Last few views of these amazing Female Lions as they rest up and groom each other. The thought of hunting put off for now
Back to Brent. He will be hot on Karula's tail for the Sunset Safari.
(oooops- I mistakenly typed SUNSET SURVIVOR- LOL)
And Brent ends this sunrise safari by showing us the beautiful colour changes on the leaves of the false Marulla tree.
Bye for now!
