Sunrise Safari May 31
We start off with a Good Morning from Brent and he has Dangerous Dave with him on camera.
Jamie and Brent both viewed the Dam Cam of the Male Leopard coming for a drink and they confirmed that it was indeed Tingana. (Video can be viewed on my blogs NEW page called Djuma Waterhole Cam Videos)
Jamie is on the other vehicle and has Wiam on Camera with her.
She is tracking Tingana on this crisp and cold sunrise.
She expects Tingana to be heading to Arathusa which unfortunately is a problem this morning because the signal tower is down in Arathusa so we will not have signal there.
Jamie is wearing a new hat. She got it from Kirsty in Final control who has just returned from leave.
Jamie laughs and says her hat has it's own gravitational pull. It does have a pom pom on the top but she is grateful. Wiam says she shouldn't wear it at a cat sighting.
Brent has Wild Dog tracks. Jamie said Impala are all alarm calling and they are all running around. Jamie said they are scared.
Hyenas are spotted and they are running quickly towards the alarm calling Impala
Hyenas Racing towards Impala
Hyena's now checking out the Impala.
Go Away Birds alarm calling as well.
Hyenas sniffing and sniffing.
They are off and running again but Jamie feels there is something in this area that has them interested.
This is the same block that Karula's tracks disappeared into.
What's Going On With These Hyenas
Jamie doing another U turn. Hyenas are racing back and forth. On the Road, then back to original Impala area.
And now a 3rd Hyena has shown up but is keeping his distance.
Hyena's On The Move
Jamie thinks the Hyenas followed the Impala Alarm call and that the Impala made a mistake and alarm called over nothing.
The Hyena could have had a dispute overnight with another clan because they are currently right on the boundary of their territory.
Jamie is now travelling as fast as she dares now in reverse.
Incredible stamina of these Hyenas/ They can move quickly like this for miles at a time.
Lost track of them.
Over to Brent
He had just received a call from Andrew at Cheetah Plains and look what is here.
LIONS!
Styx Pride
One has suckle marks on her belly
Styx Female With Suckle Marks
One Lioness looks much fuller then the other one. Perhaps she arrived after the kill had been eaten.
Got a good look at both Styx females and both clearly have distinct suckle marks.
Each of these females currently have 4 cubs each safely tucked away.
Oh look up!!!!
Grey Heron Flying Over
Nothing looks as comfortable as a sleeping lion
Sleeping Lions Are So Comfy
Brent leaving the sleeping lions as they are not apt to be leaving. He will come back and check on them later.

Over to Jamie with a Red Breasted Korhaan
Jamie is going to check Tree House Dam to look for Karula because she knows that Karula likes it there. Karula doesn't seem to have crossed out but from the tracks, Karula could have been dodging Hyena's throughout the night.
Over to Brent
Male Leopard tracks did come through here. It is possible he might have a kill within this block.
Its quite a large block.
African Hoo Poos
Over to Jamie

We have to pop over to Jamie because Kruger Officials stopped Brent and wanted to know what he was doing there.
Brent explained that he is doing a live Safari from the National Geographic Website and that he is allowed on Cheetah Plains which includes the boundary road.
Jamie isnt ready yet so Brent speaks quickly showing us Gnormous Gnorman the Gnu
